The Series

Archetypal Weather

The Archetypal Weather series reads the cultural moment through the lens of the archetypes — the deep psychological patterns that organize collective and individual experience. Not metaphor. Not analogy. The actual structures that are operating in the room, in the culture, and in the life of any individual who pays attention to their own interior.

Each essay in the series takes one archetype and follows it where it leads: into clinical work, into the cultural present, into the patient across the desk and the self across the lifespan.

In the Consulting Room

In the Consulting Room is the clinical companion to the essay series. Each piece takes the theoretical argument of a published essay and brings it into the room between a therapist and a patient. Closer to the ground. Concrete experience before abstract argument. The theory recedes into the background; the human moment is the foreground.

All clinical material is composite. No individual patient is identifiable. Details have been changed to protect confidentiality.
